My name is Matthew R. Mahood. I founded MRM STRATEGIES to provide high-touch, tailored services to meet the exclusive needs of our clients. I will put my 30 plus years of senior level management experience in both the for-profit private sector and not-for profit association industry to accelerate the growth of your business.
MRM STRATEGIES is a Silicon Valley based consulting firm specializing in executive management, organizational development, public affairs, public relations, communications, and business development solutions. I apply the techniques and work ethic learned through battle tested operations and production management, and political and public policy issue campaigns to provide customized strategies that drive successful, positive outcomes for our clients.
For over eighteen years, I provided strategic guidance and executive level management at two of California’s largest chambers of commerce. I have been a guiding force in helping both the private and public sector think strategically, collaboratively and find solutions to problems around public policy, economic development and community advancement.
I developed strong leadership skills, knowledge and experience while managing for fifteen years at various levels with Fortune 500 companies such as United Parcel Service, FedEx, BAX Global and Webvan.com. I have day-to-day experience and working knowledge in the various fields of operations, production, logistics, customer service, sales, marketing and general management.
While serving as the President & CEO of the Sacramento Metro Chamber for nearly a decade, I personally spearheaded efforts with the Mayor Kevin Johnson to retain the Kings NBA franchise in Sacramento, oversaw the nation’s largest chamber of commerce Washington DC fly-in advocacy program, and was named “Executive of the Year” by the Western Association of Chamber Executives in 2010.
While serving as President & CEO of the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce for over nine years, I spearheaded efforts to pivot and rebrand the organization away from a traditional “chamber of commerce” model, creating specific business lines focused on membership services, economic development and community advancement – including creating more resources and information for start-ups and entrepreneurs to help them accelerate their business growth.
I earned my B.S. in Business Administration with an option in Organizational Communication and Public Relations from California State University, East Bay. I participated in athletics & worked while I went to college. In my senior year, I served as Associated Student Body President.
I am a 4th generation California native who loves to enjoy many of the amazing outdoor recreational opportunities available to those of us who get to live, work and play in this amazing place.
